The J Resort Neon Line can be experienced at both night and during the day. Both have their positives and drawbacks, but they also offer their own unique perspectives that can’t be experienced during both.

Clearly, nighttime would be the preferential time to walk it, as that’s when all the sculptures are lit up. Additionally, some of the sculptures feature special effects and music, giving onlookers the full experience.

The sea urchins spines light up with multicolored LED lights at night.

The Aquarium unveiled a new art installation on its front plaza on November 27. The massive sculpture of a sea urchin with spines that light up at night was created by a group of artists and engineers called Liquid PXL, led by lead artist and local resident Abram Santa Cruz. One of the members is a volunteer diver at the Aquarium and was inspired by the Aquarium’s animals to create the sculpture.

Last January, an array of small, stained-glass houses started popping up throughout Hoboken, unannounced. The mysterious little structures, aside from being a cartoonishly perfect place to live, were the work of Brooklyn-based artist Tom Fruin and part of an initiative from Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA). This year, HBA is continuing its tradition of outdoor artwork with an installation of Electric Dandelions from artist Abram Santa Cruz and Los Angeles arts collective Liquid PXL. The massive, glowing structures will be unveiled at Hoboken’s Pier A Park this Friday, February 23rd.
